Wind Mitigation Inspection

In 2005, Florida passed a law that ALL Insurance Companies must give discounts based upon mitigable construction features that may be present in the home.  These discounts are available to clients through the wind mitigation report. A wind mitigation is a reference to the different measures put in place that protect a home from high winds and/or hurricanes.  Aspects such as when a roof was last replaced, roof geometry, roof underlayment, roof deck attachment, roof to wall attachment, and opening protections are all areas that can lead you to massive savings when it comes to Home owner's insurance. There is no pass or fail with this inspection, it's just a matter of how much you can save!

4 Point Insurance Inspection

A 4 point inspection is required by insurance companies on homes typically older than 20 years old. This inspection is to ensure the insurance companies that there are no pre-existing damages or risks prior to being insured. The 4 points being inspected are:

  • Roof

  • Electrical

  • Plumbing

  • HVAC

This is not meant to be an overly exhaustive inspection, but a brief overview of the previously mentioned components to confirm that there are no leaks or anything deemed as "unsafe."

Mobile Home Tie Down Inspection

Mobile home insurance policies have become much more strict ever since Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Since then, mobile homes have had updated requirements that need to be met in order to be deemed safe for Florida's harsh hurricane seasons. To ensure that these requirements are met, a tie down inspection is needed. A mobile home tie down is a metal strap that comes from the footings of the structure and wraps into the structure of the mobile home. This prevents uplift of the mobile home during a high wind event.

Full home inspection

A Full home inspection is performed typically when someone is buying a home and they want to be confident that there are no major issues with the home. These inspections are the most detailed, as every aspect of a home is inspected, from every outlet to every square foot in the attic. Full home inspections on average take one hour per every 1,000 square feet to complete. Included with a full home inspection is a 4 point, wind mitigation, and thermal imaging at no added charge!
